Feckless
Ed Henry on FOX News Friday night reported on the decision by President Obama to use air strikes to protect the Kurds trapped on a mountain by ISIS. ISIS threatened to wipe the men, women and children off the map. Obama was also defending our embassy. Henry reported on a heated exchange between an aide and the president before the speech. Obama looked to me visibly angry. His demeanor seemed to mirror his extreme reluctance to war in Iraq.
Then with all the hoopla about using airstrikes, the Oregonian this am reports that “…warplanes dropped 500-pound laser-guided bombs on a mobile artillery piece. a stationary convoy of seven trucks, and a mortar position. They also used a drone to strike another mortar position.”
Boy, that’s going to scare the beheading-friendly ISIS in their tracks and make them think again about attacking the U.S. IMO, once again we tip-toe into conflict, which just encourages ISIS more. Gradually we escalate. Why don’t we go in with guns blazing and make it so ISIS will take years to recover.
We play the reluctant game, instead of striking fast and hard taking the fight out of the enemy.
